INTRODUCTION TO KITESURFING

Here you have the opportunity to learn about the new and exciting sport called kitesurfing. Some people also call it kiteboarding, or flysurfing, and others just call it dat big weird thing flyin' in da air.

Today, kiteboarders can be seen in most windy locations, often sharing the water with windsurfers, swimmers, and other watersports alike.

There are great locations around the world to learn kitesurfing, among others:

If you wish to start kitesurfing lessons, you should ideally find an empty sandy beach with plenty of waist deep water. Also, the first steps should never be taken without an assistant (preferably experienced).
In the few follwing pages, you will be given a short description of the kitesurfing equipment and accessories, with a simple user guide for the very basics of the sport. Among the idfferent topics, we will discuss where to start your kiteboarding lessons, how to launch the kite, getting in the water, turning around, and finally getting air.
